This group was purchased from Bob Follows in summer 2011 when we were able to acquire various groups from him due to semi-retirement.We have been breeding this colour ever since and with selection we have built up a very strong group. Our birds are now attaining very good size and type, which until recently has been an issue of concern for all Partridge Orpingtons.
As with the red partridge these birds are very good egg layers by orpington standards and generally a very hardy bird. The standard Partridge pencilling pattern becomes slightly lighter and the gold/red in the tail and wing tips is replaced with blue.

Orpingtons are bred as much for their looks and temperament as for their egg laying capabilities. A healthy Partridge Orpington hen should lay 140 – 200 eggs per year and achieve a weight of between 7-10lbs and a cock bird should achieve a weight of between 10-12lbs.
