ALSO AVAILABLE ARE TOP QAULITY SALMON FAVEROLLES
We are now releasing some of our one,two and three year old breeding pullets. Due to the demand last year for this offer we will only release one of each colour to any one person unless sold as a breeding group with a cockerel.
These are available in many of the colours seen on the website and most are priced at £30/£35 per bird.
Please email any enquiries.
SEXED GROWERS IN MOST COLOURS WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM MAY 2018
Due to the current defra ruling regarding housing and ranging of poultry we will not be suppling hatching eggs until may at the earliest.
At present all internal areas of our breeding pens are filled with birds that would have been ranging in outdoor pens and this makes setting breeding groups totally impractical at this time.
We do however have a quantity of pol pullets in many colours that we are now selling subject to discussing your housing arrangements for the birds you may purchase. We have held back from selling any birds up until this point but with the order being extended until the end of april at the earliest we feel we must now begin to sell some birds. We also have a large quantity of cockerels which we can also supply for those wanting breeding groups.
If you are interested in purchasing birds please email us with your requirements and your location.
After a very succesfull breeding season we are now releasing young breeding groups in most of the colours you can see on our website. We would like to sell only breeding groups at this time due to the numbers of quality cockerels we have bred ,but we would be prepared to sell pullets only if the order exceeds four birds.
Please email any enquiries
We will have a limited quantity of sexed growers available at ages from 8 to 14 weeks at the end of july.
I will list the colours and qauntities available on the website shortly.
Feel free to email [not telephone please] any enquiries for colours and prices .
There will also be a large qauntity of adult hens 2 and 3 years old form my breeding stock available from end july too.
Again please email you requests for birds and prices.
No hatching eggs are available
many thanks steve
We will not be taking pre orders for hatching eggs or birds during 2016. As we posted earlier in the year we are taking a year out to concentrate on our breeding projects and bring in some fresh bloodlines to Essex Orpingtons. This is going to take up most of our time and we feel we cannot commit to serving our customers reliably this season. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused by this but we really cannot dedicate the time required throughout 2016. We do however anticipate that we will be able to offer even better quality birds for 2017 and hopefully a few new colours too!
WE NOW HAVE A FEW BREEDING TRIOS AND PAIRS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE IN BLUE SPLASH,BLACK CUCKOO AND PARTRIDGE. ALSO COCKERELS AVAILABLE IN MOST COLOURS . PLEASE CONTACT THROUGH THE WEBSITE IF INTERESTED.
We have taken the decision to dedicate the 2016 season to improving the quality of our flock and concentrating on some of our many breeding projects.Whilst we have enjoyed supplying our customers with both birds and hatching eggs during the last 4 years we feel it necessary to take a year out to improve both our flock and our premises.Breeding large quantities of birds and running many breeding groups to supply hatching eggs is very time consuming and leaves very little time to concentrate on the projects and the existing bloodlines we value so much.Time must be spent sourcing fresh bloodlines to integrate into our flock to improve the quality and maintain good health. I hope you are all understanding that this step is being taken with quality in mind and in the long run i am sure those of you that buy my birds and hatching eggs will benefit. Of course there will be a few excess eggs and birds over the springtime which we will make available on the website when available.
We have now split our breeding groups for 2015 to let the hens enjoy the hottest part of the year without the constant attentions of the cock birds. This means we will not be able to supply hatching eggs until 2016. This will now allow us to let all the hens roam the fields while we pressure wash and clean all the enclosures. During this period we attempt to partner up some of the many cockbirds we have using our knowledge of which cocks are domineering and which will happily succumb to a more dominant male. This allows me to get 3/4/5 cocks to a cage ready for winter, which makes managing the flock much easier over winter. This year we used artificial lighting to encourage the birds to lay and the cocks to tread in early January which worked very well. However we will not be repeating this as i never realized how difficult it would be to manage the volumes of chicks and breeding groups through the cold climates of winter!! Mother nature has made springtime the natural time for breeding for a very good reason! Thankyou to all who bought eggs from us and i will be ready to do it all again next spring[albeit fairly early in spring!!!]
