Welcome to our website!

We began like most people with just a couple of birds but as with the rest of you it never ends there!

We have travelled the country to collect birds from some of the UK's leading orpington chicken breeders whilst developing some very good lines of our own.

350 Birds

We have built up a flock in excess of 350 birds in over 20 colours. I have all the breed standard colours and also many of the project colours developed to a very high standard.

We also have many project colours in development stage which will be available in the future.

Orpington breeding

Essex orpingtons can supply hatching eggs, chicks, growers and adult orpington chickens in all of the colours you see on this website.

We are based in Essex, England and only sell large fowl orpington chickens.

Bird description: Our black orpington hens are top quality VERY large birds! These were the original orpington colour and all other colours try to attain its size and type. The cockerel in this group was purchased directly from David Pownall in may this year after he had finished breeding his show stock.
